What to do on a rainy day...

I woke up this morning to a rainy day. Even my little feathered friends who play outside my window were no where in site. So what I decided to do was work on one of the new blogs I decided to start. Its a photography blog. I got the idea from Robbie at Robyn Regan Photography . Robby has been my inspiration to dig in and learn how to use my camera. I too figured that some of you may get tired of seeing my pictures of random things so I gave them a home at Goat Creek Photography. I have aspirations of learning how to take better pictures and use Photoshop Elements 8. With luck, I am hoping to take a photography class the next time the school offers it.

If you noticed... I did say I decided to work on one of my new blogs. The other is going to be a strictly cooking/recipe blog. Many friends and family are always asking for recipes and ideas for meals. The plan is to share all new and previously posted recipes plus share new sites I have found along the way. I will let you know when I start posting to it, if you are interested.

Well, I think I will clean up my kitchen, fire up the electric stove and curl up in a chair and read for a while. I haven't done that in a while and as you can see... my stack of books to read is getting pretty big.

Take care all and I hope you all have a wonderful start to the new week.

Sasha goes riding...

I don't know about your neck of the woods but here the caterpillars are on the move. I swear that the other day I counted 100 within a 5 mile stretch of the road. Grandma always said when they were dark, it was a sign of a hard winter.

I found this fuzzy fellow right outside our porch.

Because I think our nice days are numbered Wendell and I decided to take a little drive and to take Sasha with us. Whenever we leave to go somewhere she is always giving us those sad puppy eyes.

All I had to say was lets go bye bye and she was bouncing like Tigger! All over the place!!!

So off to the jeep she went running. I don't think there was anyway would we of gotten her out of there unless she did get to go for a ride somewhere.

One of our favorite things to do is go riding down the county roads. Since we have moved here we never really have gone too far but Wendell had picked up a county road map and off we went. Along the way I spotted some bittersweet.

Being the sweetie that he is, Wendell jumped out and picked some for me. Unfortunately we did not think of bringing some pruning shears with us so he had to break it off for me. I tried to get it myself but I am too short to reach it. It was a stretch for him too!

He promised me that we would go back which is good because I want to fill my crock up with it. Does anyone know an easy way to preserve it?

After about an hour we decided to head home and I swear once she heard those words she was giving us 'those' eyes.

Now what do you say to that face???

I hope all are having a great weekend!

Good News!!!!

I just had to share with my blogging friends that Wendell got a phone call last night from the drug company that makes his Copaxone and he has been approved for assistance!!! *doing a happy dance* They are sending him a three month shipment via Fed-Ex today!!!

I was getting so worried as he was down to one injection and I hated to think of him having to do without. God DOES answer prayers!

Despite everything that has happened to us over the past two years I still feel very blessed and thankful for all that HE has given us.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

A New Look...

I just wanted to stop in and say Hello and Happy Veteran's Day to all my fellow friends and bloggers. I have no classes till next Monday and no where to go so I have a little free time to myself. Its going to seem so odd not getting up and going to work Friday morning. With some luck I will be able to sleep past 3:30 am.

Since the morning was free I decided to play with the look of my blog. I am still not happy with it so it will probably be changing again. I did like the way my picture turned out though. I have been playing with my camera.

Well I better get moving and try to get some housework done around here. I am hoping to work on my cookbook or scrapbook a little today.

Enjoy your Wednesday!

Maw Maw's Cowboy...

Our Halloween was pretty quiet around here especially since I had to work. We did not expect any trick or treater's at all since we live in such a rural area but I did have one. I never expected to see my baby on this day but his mom and dad surprised me! When they first got there his mom told me I best be ready with the camera because once the hat goes on, it comes off just as fast! She wasn't lying. *laughing*

Maw Maw has a special place in her heart for cowboys... especially this one.

Instead of giving him candy I had found this little flashlight that had six little covers that would cast a figure on the wall. He loved it and wouldn't put it down the entire visit. He especially liked shining the spider one on maw maw just to hear her squeal. His maw maw is not crazy about bugs!

This is Jaygen's momma and daddy. I can still remember dressing his daddy up for his first Halloween.

I cannot post without a picture of Sasha in her costume. She loves wearing her scarves everyday. It makes her feel special like the puppy she is. Can you tell she is just trying to stay out of Jaygen's way? Poor baby is excited when he gets there but she tires out quick.

Other than this our weekend was pretty quiet. I have only one more Friday to work at the retirement home then its off to do my second internship. I came home yesterday with the chills. I was all wrapped up in bed and just couldn't get warm. I am praying it is not the flu heading my way.

Take care all and I hope you have a great Monday!

I barely got it out of the box when my dear husband confiscated it and started reading it! I guess its gotten his seal of approval too. Thank you Ellen! I love it!!!

A Beautiful Weekend...

It was so nice this weekend despite the wind but at least it was not raining. Wendell and I decided to take a road trip and ended up in Fairview Heights, Illinois. I took my camera but the few pictures I got were not that good thanks to the nose prints Sasha had left on the window. Oh well... I did manage one.

Besides just taking ride, we wanted to go check out a few of the stores there for a heater. Last year we passed up buying one and when we went back it was gone. We wanted one that actually looked like a stove. Well we looked all over and finally we found the mother load of electric heaters at the Home Depot.

At first we had a hard time deciding because they even had some that looked like little mini-fireplaces. Very nice but they wanted a lot more for them than what we had to spend on one. I finally decided on this one!

Doesn't it look like the real thing? It even crackles like a real fire. I had to do a little talking to Wendell because they had one that looked like mahogany that Wendell wanted but I told him that we should go with the black because it looked so much more realistic. Now all I need is a little bit of flooring and a faux stovepipe!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There isn't a whole lot going on today. I actually have a day with no classes so I stayed home and typed up a report Wendell needs for his Animal Science class. Well.... I guess you could say I basically wrote it. I read what he had put together and there was no way I could let him turn it in. I know I should of just typed what he wrote but I want him to at least pass this class. He is so excited about school despite all the trouble he has been having with Algebra. I guess I am afraid of what will happen with him if he fails and they discontinue his grant.
Well I am off to clean house and make meatloaf. I hope you all are having a great Monday!
Take Care,
Debbie
